Who we are
We are the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Parents’ Federation (Learning Disabilities), a registered charity (charity number 1076847) and company limited by guarentee (company number 03067995). We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commission (registration reference ZB280679).

How we use your information
We collect information about:
- Parents and carers who use our services

- People who apply for our Understanding Disability awards

We do not use any information for advertising purposes, nor do we sell or share your data with others except as required by law.
If we hold information about you, you have rights in repect of your personal information including:
- to be supplied information on our uses
- to see what data we are holding about you
- to request correction or erasure of your data
- to object to processing
- to complain to us about our data usr or complain to the supervisory authority

The lawful basis on which we use this information
We collect and use this information under:
- The UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 6 1(b) – to fulfil contracts with our staff and others
- The GDPR Article 6 1(c) – to fulfil legal obligations e.g. financial and tax records
- The GDPR Article 6 1(a) – for example, where you have asked us to keep in touch or accept cookies
- The GDPR Article 6 1(f) – our legitimate interests, for example protecting the organisation from theft.
Collecting your information
Information is collected in the course of business e.g. when taking out contracts, when making payments, at our events, when you contact us. All collection is overt, we do not receive data from others about you nor collect data in covert manners.
Who we share your data with
We only share information where we are legally required to do so or you have asked us to e.g. signposting you to services.
Algorithms and profiling
We do not use algorithms or profiling.
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to:
- Receive a copy of your data (Subject Access Request)
- Have your data corrected, erased or restrict processing
- Withdraw your consent to our data use. If your consent is withdrawn we will no longer use your data and will erase it as soon as we no longer have another reason for retaining it.
- Complain to the supervisory authority (the Information Commissioner) about our use or handling of your data
