Karen Cowdrey
Office Manager
I joined the Parents Federation staff team in 2003. Prior to joining the Parents Federation I was volunteering with the Vale Volunteer Bureau (VVB) in the administration department. Whilst volunteering with the VVB I was chosen to attend a reception held by Mr & Mrs Blair at Downing Street in December 2006. The reception was in recognition of voluntary work and I was very proud as I was one of 20 people chosen in Wales to attend.
My role within the Parents Federation is Office Manager. I organise and supervise all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the office. I keep the databases up to date and am usually the first person that you will speak to if you ring the office. I assist with organising meetings and events. I have recently been attending social gatherings in the Vale and have been gathering feedback for quarterly reports.
I have 3 children aged 18, 16 and 3. I am currently learning to speak Welsh and passed my Mynediad exam in Summer 2014.
